Are you rooted in what others think of you? Are you rooted in that time, when you were 15, those girls would not let you hang out with them because your trainers were apparently the wrong brand? Are you rooted in being better than others?
When life brings its challenges and gales, I believe our roots can keep us steadfast, giving us the ability to focus on what is important. When we are offered blessings and joy, I believe our roots can help us to truly enjoy what has lovingly been bestowed upon us.
But sometimes what we are rooted in can be harmful to us and consequently those around us. What would life be like if you were firmly rooted in what others think of you? What filter would you use throughout your life if you were rooted in that time someone you cared about let you down?
I ask all of these questions as recently I’ve made progress in my realisation there were times in my life in which I was rooted in values and experiences that were not healthy. If someone had said ‘Hey Nat, do you see what you are doing right now, those choices or lack of choices you are making, what experiences and values are you drawing on ?’ I may have made healthier or at least more cognizant choices.
So I’m going to ask you; In terms of your behaviour at work or with friends, or perhaps in a situation you are currently grappling with;
What Are You Rooted In?
Hoping that all is well with you and yours
